Marriage

If you have decided to enquire about getting married in our Parish, congratulations on reaching this exciting time in your life.  Marriage is one of the 7 Sacraments of the Church.  A couple who wish to celebrate their wedding in Church are witnessing to the love of God which they have found at the heart of their relationship.  One of the Priests will help you in preparing for your marriage by exploring the faith dimension of your relationship with you, establishing your freedom to marry, helping you to deepen your understanding of the Sacrament and also by assisting you with the preparation of your marriage ceremony.  You may expect to meet with the Priest several times in the months before your wedding.

If you want to enquire about getting married in our parish the first step is to contact the Parish Office. At least three months advance notice is required by both the Civil and church law requirements.

Couples intending to Marry should check the availability of the date in question and complete the Booking form. The Priest on Duty will contact you to confirm your freedom to marry in church and to assist you in your preparations.  Please do not give the name of a priest to the registrar as solemniser without having contacted the parish.
